Awana Ice Cream Kickoff!
Wednesday Sep 8, 2010
Awana is Back! This Wednesday, Sep 8th is our annual Ice Cream Kickoff Night! For this night, parents are asked to help get their children's online registration information filled out BEFORE you come to Awana - and to bring in their children's signed Awana Permissions Form (see "Clubber Registration" items 1 and 2 below). A parent, or parents, may stay the night to see some of the basics of an Awana night, though it is a very unusual night. With your child's paperwork done, they (and you) are invited to create and enjoy an ice cream sundae served by your Awana Leaders! This is their welcome to the Awana year and our way of thanking you for your help on this hectic night!
What is Awana?
Awana is a ministry that is all about fun with a purpose -- to introduce kids to Jesus and to help them grow in their relationship with Him. Our Awana ministry at TCC has clubs for children from Kindergarten through 6th grade. (Pre-K program also exists for children with a parent serving in Awana.) Awana consists of Game Time, Handbook Time, and Council Time (a.k.a. Large Group Time) each Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 8:15 PM at TCC in the Multi-Purpose Room. You can expect fun games, fun theme nights, and building relationships with kids as we help teach them about God's love, how Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and how God wants us to live our lives.
Awana - Be involved!
