Our Promiseland children recently learned what it means to be salt and light to our world by serving the suffering people of Haiti. Towels, wash cloths, combs, nail clippers, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and band-aids poured into TCC. Despite the chaos of the day, the Promiseland kids created 222 health kits! The kits and additional items, which together weighed 251 pounds, are on their way to help the people of Haiti.
While the kindergarten and 1st grade girls were very particular about selecting the perfect toothbrush for their kits, the boys were overheard saying, "I don't need a toothbrush," "I don't want a comb," and "I don't like band-aids!" The good news is that, sometime in the future, a Haitian mother who has lost everything is going to be able to brush her teeth, comb her little girl’s hair, and give her little boy a bath, even if he doesn’t want one!
