GET INVOLVED

Q: What is the best way to plug into TCC?
More Info

A:  Two of the best ways are by getting inVOLved!  That means jumping into service on a ministry team (see Involved! Volunteer Opportunities) or through coming to some of our Living Room environments where you can meet new friends.  Ultimately, we are a 'church of community groups' and we want you to eventually get connected into a small group of people who are taking this faith journey together. At our Sunday services, there is an area called 'Connect', located in the back of our Worship Center, where you can talk to TCCers and get more info about taking your next step to get connected at TCC.

TCC's START

Q: When and how did TCC get started?
More Info

A:  Triangle Community Church was founded in 1992 with four families and a dream: the dream of sharing God’s love with those in the Research Triangle and beyond. In the early months, founders Doug Humphrey and Buddy Walters met weekly in a home with a core group of believers committed to this dream.

The pastors focused on helping men, women, and children understand the Bible and apply its timeless truths to their everyday lives. With a mix of relevant teaching and contemporary music, the church soon attracted more families and outgrew the living room so they began meeting in various rented school facilities. While the worship service grew, small groups also met regularly to encourage true fellowship and connections among members.

With so many ministries flourishing, church members rallied to finance the construction of a permanent home for TCC.  In April 2003, the church moved into a new building at 4216 Kildaire Farm Road in Apex, NC. This 17,000 square foot multipurpose building fulfills Phase I, with future facilities now in the planning stages.

In September 2003, Pastor Buddy Walters unexpectedly went to be with the Lord. Through a shared experience of grieving Buddy’s loss, while eagerly embracing his vision, TCC has emerged stronger and even more committed to reaching the Triangle, one home at a time.

NEWSLETTER

Q: How do I sign up for TCC's monthly newsletter, theANGLE?
More Info

A:  We would be glad to add you to our distribution list.  The newsletter is a great way to stay connected to what is happening at TCC.  You will receive it via email once a month.  If you do not have access to a computer, you can pick up a copy on Sunday at Connect (located at the back of the worship center).  Send an email to Newsletter@tcc.org.

DIRECTORY

Q: How can I get a copy of the TCC directory or sign up to be in the directory?
More Info

A:  When you're at church, you can pick up a copy at Connect (back of Worship Center).  To sign up to be in the directory, fill out one of the seat cards (located in the back pocket of a Worship Center chair) and drop it at Connect.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

Q: Why doesn't TCC have adult Sunday School?
More Info

A:  Our mission is to transform ordinary people into extraordinary followers of Jesus Christ. We feel that this is best done in a true small group atmosphere. There are several reasons why we feel that community groups work better than adult Sunday school.

Without an adult Sunday school we think we can focus better on our guests, children's & youth ministry.  By focusing on guests during our Sunday services we think we make it easier for our members/regular attenders to invite friends in whose lives they are investing outside of Sunday.  Home meetings provide safe, predictable environments where no one slips through the cracks. People benefit from the consistency and accountability of community groups. By participating in community groups outside of the regular Sunday morning schedule, adults are free to serve in a ministry area on Sunday mornings.
