What does it look like to walk in a manner worthy of our high calling in Christ Jesus? Paul answers that question by urging us to allow the Holy Spirit to cultivate three traits in our lives: humility, gentleness and patience. He also urges us to preserve unity in Christ’s church, a unity that is preserved when we walk in humility, gentleness and patience!
Paul’s first prayer in the book of Ephesians is for us to understand and appreciate the life-transforming nature of the God-given blessings we have received. This week’s second prayer is different. Here, Paul asks not for enlightenment, but enablement. He wants us to live out these blessings in a practical way.
