Transforming Ordinary People into Extraordinary Followers of Christ

A time of reflection – a post from Daniel Havener

Spend some time in prayer today.

A couple weeks ago my friends and I wrote down some questions to think about. There is nothing magical about them. They are just a tools we use to reflect on our purpose of serving the kingdom. These questions are worded as prayers to God and I hope as you pray today you pick out a few of these to ask God. I have yet to spend time in prayer over all of these but the ones that I have been praying I put a star next to.

*What have  you given me?

  1. Money
  2. Talents
  3. Sphere of Influence
  4. Desires
  5. Personality
  6. Spiritual Gifts

*Am I furthering the Kingdom of God at all?

*Am I advancing the gospel at all?

*What am I squandering?

*Whose voice am I listening to most?

*Do I see the people around me the way Jesus looks at them?

*How do you view the things that are most important to me?

*Do my actions depict a belief that you are good?

*How do you desire to use the resources you have been entrusted to me for your name sake and for the spread of the gospel?

What am I afraid of?

Do I trust you with that thing?

Do I trust you to the point of death?

Do I view my life looking through God’s eyes or the ways of the world?

No matter what you pray, end it with this, “Spend me for your glory no matter what is costs me.”

This is the prayer of my heart. This is the cry of my soul. God, I was made to reflect your glory. Make me an accurate reflection.

After you finish praying listen to Since Your Love by United Pursuit. I know this post was a little different from usual but I am hoping God will move through your prayers as he has moved through mine.

Love you all,

-Dan
